Individual Therapy: Tools for the Overthinking, Room for Your Faith
One-on-one support for anxiety, low mood, stress and life's heavier moments, with a counsellor who understands your faith.
- Free 15-minute consultation first
- Covered by most benefits plans
- Online, evenings and weekends
In short: Individual therapy is one-on-one counselling with a licensed Muslim counsellor for anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, self-esteem and life transitions. Sessions use evidence-based approaches like CBT, with your faith brought in as much as you want. Sessions are 50 minutes, held online across Canada, and cost $175 (covered by most insurance plans).
Maybe it's overthinking you can't switch off. Maybe it's pressure at home, at work or at school, or feeling confident on the outside and drained on the inside. You've been handling it on your own for a while, and it isn't working.
Individual therapy gives you a counsellor who won't make you feel judged, and practical tools for the hard moments, not just "how does that feel?" You choose who you talk to: a woman or a man, your language, someone young or someone who works with students.
You don't need to be in crisis to deserve support.
- Anxiety, worry and overthinking
- Low mood and depression
- Stress, burnout and perfectionism
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Pressure and expectations at home
- Life transitions: a new job, a move, a loss, a new baby
- Anger and emotional overwhelm
- Feeling stuck, or not like yourself lately
The Islamic perspective
Islam teaches that caring for your mind is part of caring for the trust Allah has given you, and that seeking help is taking the means, not a lack of faith. In sessions, faith is a source of strength, not a scorecard. Bring your questions about tawakkul, prayer or guilt if you want to, and leave them out if you don't. Your counsellor follows your lead.

Questions before you start
A non-profit, trusted by our community
A Zakat-eligible non-profit recognized by the Canadian Council of Imams and AMJA. More than 2,000 people reached out to us last year.
Do I have to be in crisis to start?
No. Many people reach out when they're high-functioning but overwhelmed, before things get worse. You don't need a diagnosis or a referral.
Can I choose a female or male counsellor?
Yes. Tell us on the form, along with your language and anything else that matters to you, like someone who works with students, and we'll match you.
Will my family find out?
Not from us. Sessions are online and confidential, held to our regulatory colleges' standards, and we only ever contact you. Confidentiality has a few legal limits, like a risk of harm, which your counsellor explains at the start.
What kind of therapy will I get?
Evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), chosen for what you're dealing with. Your counsellor explains the plan and adjusts it with you as you go.
What if my counsellor isn't the right fit?
Tell us and we'll match you with another counsellor, at no charge for the switch. The fit matters, and we want you to feel comfortable.
