In short: Islamic premarital counselling prepares Muslim couples for Nikah by working through communication styles, expectations, finances, family roles, and conflict resolution with a licensed Muslim counsellor, all within the Islamic concept of marriage. Premarital sessions are held online across Canada, cost $175 per 50-minute session, and begin with a free 15-minute consultation.

Preparing for Nikah? The weeks before marriage are full of excitement, and often, unspoken assumptions. Our Islamic premarital counselling helps couples build a strong foundation before marriage, exploring communication, expectations, conflict resolution, and the Islamic concept of marriage. Give your relationship the best possible start.

What we help with

You don't need to be in crisis to deserve support.

  • Clarifying expectations around roles, finances, and family
  • Learning each other's communication and conflict styles
  • Discussing living arrangements and in-law relationships
  • Aligning on children, career, and deen-related goals
  • Navigating cultural differences between families
  • Building skills to handle disagreements before they become patterns

The Islamic perspective

Marriage is described by the Prophet ﷺ as half of one's deen: it deserves real preparation. Our counsellors ground premarital work in the Islamic vision of marriage as partnership and mercy, while using structured, evidence-based premarital frameworks so the conversations you need to have actually happen, before the Nikah, not after.

Questions before you start

A non-profit, trusted by our community

A Zakat-eligible non-profit recognized by the Canadian Council of Imams and AMJA. More than 2,000 people reached out to us last year.

When should we start premarital counselling?

Ideally 2 to 3 months before the Nikah, so there's time to work through anything that surfaces without pressure. But even a few sessions shortly before marriage are valuable.

We're not engaged yet, is it too early?

Not at all. Couples in serious talks often use premarital counselling to assess compatibility thoughtfully and Islamically before committing.

Do you offer this for arranged introductions?

Yes. Premarital counselling is especially helpful when couples haven't had long courtships: it creates a structured, halal space to have the important conversations.
