Imam Hamza Wardak was born in Ottawa, Canada, and raised in Toronto. After completing the memorization of the Qurʾān locally, he completed his ʿĀlimiyyah degree at the Islamic University of Azaadville in South Africa, where he also received ijāzah in the ten canonical recitations (Qirāʾāt). He serves as the Lead Imam and Religious Director at Masjid Al Jannah. He completed his BSW at Ryerson University and is an RSW (Registered Social Worker) and a Gottman Certified Marriage Counselor. He is currently pursuing his MSW at Wilfrid Laurier University.
