Muslim Trauma Therapy:
PTSD, MVA Recovery and Faith-Based Healing

At Canadian Muslim Counselling, our Muslim trauma therapy services specialise in trauma recovery including motor vehicle accident (MVA) support, psychological assessments, and PTSD therapy all delivered within a safe, halal, faith-informed environment. Our licensed Muslim therapists understand both the clinical and Islamic dimensions of trauma and recovery. Available online, from anywhere in Canada.

Our Specialisation — MVA, Personal Injury and Trauma Recovery

Motor vehicle accidents and personal injuries are among the most common reasons Muslims seek trauma therapy and one of our core areas of expertise at Canadian Muslim Counselling.

As Muslims, we believe that everything including the accidents we encounter, is from Allah. While maintaining this belief, we also acknowledge that Allah has tasked us with using all means available to overcome any test we may face. Our specialised MVA and personal injury services include:

  • Psychological Assessments: comprehensive clinical evaluations documenting the psychological impact of your accident, accepted by insurance providers and legal teams
  • Driving Anxiety Reintegration: structured, evidence-based support to help you return to driving confidently and safely after an MVA
  • PTSD treatment for accident survivors: addressing flashbacks, hypervigilance, avoidance, and the emotional aftermath of your accident
  • Personal injury trauma support: tailored therapy for slips, falls, and other injury-related trauma

If you have been in a motor vehicle accident or suffered a personal injury, our team is ready to support your full recovery, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Trauma, PTSD and Islam: You Are Not Alone

Trauma is widely misunderstood in many Muslim communities. Some people are told that their suffering is simply a test from Allah and that they need more sabr. While Islamic teachings on patience and trust in Allah are deeply meaningful, they are not a substitute for professional trauma treatment and seeking help does not mean your faith is weak.

Getting trauma therapy is entirely consistent with Islamic values, it is how you honour the amanah of your mental and emotional health. Our muslim mental health ontario services are built on this understanding. You will never be made to feel judged or spiritually deficient for seeking support.

  • Somatic therapy: addressing how trauma is held in the body
  • Narrative therapy: reclaiming your story and identity after trauma
  • Islamic spiritual support: incorporating sabr, tawakkul, and Quranic guidance where appropriate and requested
