Maryam Adham – MC

Registered Provisional Psychologist – Request Consultation

Maryam has always had a passion for mental health and education. She originally set out to be a high school English teacher, completing a BA in English and Psychology before realizing that her passion lies in working one-on-one with Muslim youth. She went on to complete a Master of Counselling degree from Athabasca University and is currently a registered provisional psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Maryam is committed to working with youth both within the educational landscape and in the greater Muslim community.

Maryam has worked as a mental health counsellor in schools, particularly Islamic schools, for the past eight years. This has been a huge blessing from Allah (swt) as it has allowed her not only to support the youth and gain experience but also to hear directly from them regarding their mental health needs and how the Muslim community can support them. Maryam’s passion for mental health is rooted in her own experiences growing up in the US and Canada.

Maryam is passionate about supporting the needs of children, adolescents, families, and individuals through a person-centered lens rooted in the Islamic tradition.
