Everyone shares different life experiences that may have influenced or shaped their life in some way. These life experiences may have positively or negatively impacting us, and as a result we maybe struggling due to these experiences. Facing our struggles can sometimes be a challenge. Reaching out to a therapist can also be a challenge and it can take much courage and strength to do so. Therapy can sometimes feel strange or uncomfortable at first and it can sometimes be difficult to open-up, be present and vulnerable at times.

A priority for Ala’ is to ensure that her clients feel safe and comfortable during the process of therapy, all while working towards meeting her client needs and goals. Building trust can take time and Ala’ prioritizes creating a caring and nonjudgmental space for clients in order for clients to reach their goals. Ala’ likes to work collaboratively with her clients to ensure they are working towards flourishing and being the best version of themselves.

Ala’ holds a Masters and Graduate Diploma in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. Ala’ is currently a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and is a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). She also completed her training in the Supervised Pastoral Education (SPE) Residency Program at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton in 2019. Ala’ works with clients from a broad range of backgrounds and life experiences. The approach’s she uses in therapy are strength-based, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and an anti-oppressive practice approach that are client-centered.
